From Bad to Verse

A column in the Norwich (Connecticut) Bulletin cites some interesting epitaphs in the "Last Green Valley." Like that inscribed on the stone of Gurdon Cady of Plainfield celebrating his Jersey cow, his fiddling prowess, and his housekeeper Mary Lee, who was "kind to dumb animals."

But my favorite is one [...] relevant to the family name Wood: "Here lies one Wood Enclosed in Wood -- One Wood within Another, The Outer Wood is very good, We cannot praise the Other." [Link]
