Epitaph By Committee

This blog post by Janice at Cow Hampshire comes too late for us to celebrate "Plan Your Own Epitaph Day." It is a good idea to plan your own, because otherwise you might end up with one like this:

Here lies Anderson, Provost of Dundee.
Here lies Him, here lies He:
Hallelujah, Hallelujee!
A. B. C. D. E. F. G.!
Andrew Kennedy Hutchison Boyd, in his 1861 The Recreations of a Country Parson, reveals that this immortal verse was written by four of Mr. Anderson's colleagues, each of whom contributed a line.
