Another epitaph from Futility Closet I wish I'd found first:
Here lies the body of Thomas Woodhen,The most loving of husbands and amiable of men.N.B.—His name was Woodcock, but it wouldn't rhyme.Erected by his loving widow.
In my opinion, the only thing more wonderful than a "noto bene" on a tombstone would be a footnote. If I get to write my own epitaph, I might try to work both in.
