Apparently, George got the idea while watching a pregnant elephant twirling at the Bronx Zoo prior to giving birth.<br /><br />The couple won a <a href="http://www.improbable.com/ig/ig-pastwinners.html#ig1999">1999 Ig Nobel Prize</a> for their invention.
