The Wrong Forum For Genealogy?

A genealogy discussion forum has been added to craigslist. Something tells me the regulars aren't going to be helpful.

One heavily edited example:

Query
Looking for photos of Willie Ross, my great-grandfather. He was hung in Bottneau, ND, March 6, 1903, the last public hanging in North Dakota.
Response #1
One of my uncles was the last man hanged in California. I have been looking for his tree for several years.
Response #2
It was cut down about 1935.

My Dream Job

The Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana, has one of the best genealogy departments on the planet, so this job they posted on craigslist caught my eye and held it fast.

If you are interested in applying for the Genealogy shelver position, you must have completed the tenth grade and be able to shelve and retrieve materials stored in specific numerical or alphabetical order. Strong physical stamina is needed for standing, walking, stooping, and stretching more than 80% of the work time. [Link]
I can do this! I've been putting books on shelves for years, and nobody stoops better than me. Sure, it only pays $7.98 an hour, and the commute from Maine will be a drag, but the free access to Ancestry.com during my lunch break will make it all worthwhile. I just hope my first day doesn't end like this.

A Swede Deal

Seen on craigslist:

Are you a Midwesterner who's only recently discovered your Scandinavian heritage and, in order to frustrate your lonely and otherwise unfulfilled existence, picked up the study of your ancestors' language to connect with your past? Have you progressed beyond level 2? Do you want $20 to renew your subscription on geneology.com for the month of Jan?

[snip]

I will send you a tape, and all you have to do is transcribe the lyrics of the songs on it for me. No translation needed; I just need the lyrics in Swedish. And in return you receive a rather tame compensation ($20) but, considering that all you have to do is listen to music for 40 mins, will probably be the easiest $20 ever earned in the history of Swedish knowledge (finding lost wallets on the streets of Stockholm doesn't count).

Oddly enough, this ad was not posted by David Duke, for whom genealogy is also very, very important.
